Come by GK Framing and Reflectel at 169 Hudson Street in Tribeca for a guided tour of our historical 8,000 square-foot showroom. You will get an up-close view of GK | Reflectel’s designs and insight into custom framing processes and mirror TV making from founder Elizabeth Goldfeder.
Here is a brief history of our company:
Elizabeth Goldfeder started GK Framing Group in New York City in the mid 1980s as a small art gallery and high-end framing studio on Chelsea’s West 22nd Street, quickly emerging as a leader in the care, preservation and presentation of fine art. In the 1990s, by then widely considered the preeminent fine art framer in New York City, GK Framing relocated to 37 West 20th Street more than tripling their square footage and hosting top designers looking for innovative frame designs and white glove customer service while solidifying their long-standing reputation for disseminating up-to-date information on conservation techniques and the restoration of valuable artwork.
Since moving in 2001 to Tribeca’s Roebling Building, GK Framing has continued to work closely with and nurture relationships with gilders, carvers, wood millers and metalsmiths. In 2014 Goldfeder started Reflectel, the Ultimate Mirror TV company as a sister company. Reflectel TV Mirrors has grown exponentially and they can now be seen at Bloomingale’s 59th Street; in all luxury suites at The Baccarat Hotel; Crestron Electronics in the D+D Building; and gracing important residential interiors across the country. The Tribeca facility on Hudson Street remains the only such framing manufacturing space combined with a showroom in Manhattan.
